📄 Abstract

Nomophobia or the anxiety of surviving without a mobile device is becoming more and more of a concern in modern life. Although using a smartphone occasionally is common, nomophobia can cause anxiety, despair, and other mental health issues. Peoples life can be significantly affected by the excessive use of smartphone, both mentally and physically. The possibility for using artificial intelligence (AI) to recognize and address smartphone dependence exists. AI can be used in a variety of ways to identify nomophobia. An area of research that has great potential is the use of AI to identify and treat nomophobia. This chapter covered the topic of using AI to identify and treat nomophobia. With further improvements, it was briefly addressed how AI may assist in identifying those who are at risk for nomophobia and render them targeted interventions and the assistance they need to manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life.
