📄 Abstract
Robotics are live microorganisms that provide health benefits to the host when administered in adequate amounts. The growing interest in gut health and preventive healthcare has increased the demand for stable and effective probiotic dosage forms. However, maintaining the viability of probiotic microorganisms during manufacturing, storage, and gastrointestinal transit remains a significant challenge. The present study focuses on the development and stability evaluation of a probiotic capsule formulation containing selected probiotic strains. The probiotic capsules were formulated using suitable probiotic cultures along with compatible excipients to ensure adequate flow properties, content uniformity, and microbial viability. The formulation process was optimized to minimize environmental stress and preserve the viability of the probiotic organisms. The prepared capsules were evaluated for various pharmaceutical parameters, including appearance, weight variation, moisture content, disintegration time, and viable cell count. Stability studies were conducted according to standard guidelines under different storage conditions to assess the effect of temperature and humidity on the viability and quality of the probiotic capsules. Samples were analyzed at predetermined intervals for physical characteristics, moisture content, and colony-forming units (CFU). The results demonstrated that the developed probiotic capsules maintained acceptable physicochemical properties and retained sufficient viable cell counts throughout the study period when stored under recommended conditions. The findings indicate that the developed probiotic capsule formulation is stable, effective, and suitable for delivering viable probiotic microorganisms. This study highlights the importance of proper formulation strategies and storage conditions in ensuring the quality and therapeutic efficacy of probiotic products. The developed formulation may serve as a promising approach for enhancing probiotic stability and consumer acceptance.
