📄 Abstract

In the field of computer science, the efficient management of data structures such as vectors (lists) is a foundational concern in algorithm design. Duplicate elements in a vector can result in erroneous computations, inflated data sizes, and unnecessary consumption of memory. The del_dup() function addresses this challenge by traversing the entire vector and popping (removing) each duplicate element while preserving the first occurrence and the relative order of unique elements. Complementing this, the dict_pop() function provides an efficient mechanism to remove a specified element from a vector by leveraging Python's dictionary for frequency tracking, thereby combining the strengths of O(1) hash-based lookup with standard vector pop operations. This manuscript presents the complete design, step-by-step algorithmic description, Python implementation, and complexity analysis of both functions, followed by a comprehensive case study demonstrating their practical utility in a real-world data management scenario.
