📄 Abstract
This phenomenological study aimed to explore the plight of repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the Province of Tarlac. Specifically, it sought to examine their lived experiences during and after repatriation, the challenges they encountered, and to provide a deeper understanding of their reintegration process. Data were collected from thirty (30) respondent who experienced repatriation at various times. Various factors influenced their repatriation, including unfavorable employment conditions, personal circumstances, and environmental challenges, suggesting that working abroad was not a sustainable option for many of them. Despite challenges, the study found that repatriates demonstrated resilience by adopting self-determination strategies to regain employment and rebuild their lives. Reintegration experiences varied, but many relied on personal initiative and adaptability to navigate post-repatriation difficulties. The results of this study provide valuable insights that may contribute to the development of more responsive programs and policy reforms for Overseas Filipino Workers. Furthermore, this research may serve as a foundation for future studies focused on the reintegration and well-being of repatriated OFWs.
