📄 Abstract

Due to increased awareness of environmental sustainability, food safety, and health, organic food items have become increasingly important in recent years. Because organic foods are grown without the use of artificial fertilizers, pesticides, hazardous chemicals, or genetically modified organisms, consumers are favoring them more and more. Due to differences in education, awareness, income, accessibility, and lifestyle, customers in rural and urban areas have somewhat different opinions on organic food items. The purpose of this study is to investigate how consumers in rural and urban areas view organic food items and to pinpoint the key variables affecting their views and behaviors. According to the survey, rural customers are relatively more price-sensitive and less aware of certified organic products, whereas urban consumers have a larger awareness of and preference for organic foods due to health and environmental concerns.
