📄 Abstract
Ayurveda emphasizes the preparation of medicines through scientifically designed pharmaceutical procedures to enhance their therapeutic efficacy, palatability, stability, and shelf life. Among the various dosage forms, Avaleha Kalpana is one of the most widely accepted semisolid formulations due to its ease of administration and prolonged preservation. Amalakyavaleha, a classical formulation described in Yogaratnakara under Panduroga Adhikara, is traditionally indicated for the management of Pandu, Kamala, and Halimaka. The present pharmaceutical study was conducted to prepare Amalakyavaleha according to classical Ayurvedic principles while documenting each stage of pharmaceutical processing. The preparation involved the extraction of Amalaki Swarasa, preparation of Prakshepa Churna, preparation of Kalka Dravya, and formulation of Avaleha following standard Avaleha Paka procedures. Organoleptic observations, processing characteristics, quantitative yield, and pharmaceutical precautions were recorded throughout the preparation. The final formulation exhibited characteristic colour, aroma, semisolid consistency, and classical Siddhi Lakshanas of Avaleha, confirming the successful preparation of the formulation. The study demonstrates the importance of standardized pharmaceutical techniques in ensuring the quality, safety, and therapeutic potential of classical Ayurvedic formulations.
