📄 Abstract
The Dairy Industry is undergoing Significant transformation in response to the growing demand of profitable farming and Resilient food production systems. Modern dairy enterprises must adapt to evolving market dynamics, environmental challenges, and technological advancements while maintaining economic viability. In India, the dairy sector plays a pivotal role in the agricultural economy, contributing approximately 5.5% to the national GDP through livestock production and serving as a major source of rural employment and poverty alleviation. India is the worlds largest milk producer, accounting for nearly 25% of global milk output, and also the largest consumer of milk and dairy products, with a per capita availability of 471 grams per day. The sector significantly contributes to national food security and nutrition, particularly in a country where a large segment of the population follows a Dairy inclusive vegetarian diet. This study highlights the economic importance of the dairy sector and emphasizes the need to address the multifaceted challenges faced by dairy farmers to ensure sustainable and profitable dairy farming in the future
