📄 Abstract
The paper explores the impacts of working capital efficiency on profitability in the four Indian top FMCG companies; it includes ITC, Hindustan Unilever, Dabur, and Colgate Palmolive India in the post-GST period of 2017-2025, as evidenced by secondary data that is presented through financial statements. Profitability ratios (NPM), measures of working capital (inventory, receivable and payable days, cash conversion cycle) and a Control Variable (sales growth) are used as data and the descriptive statistics, one way ANOVA, pooled OLS regression are used. The findings demonstrate that there are big cross firm variations in terms of cash conversion and net profit margins and the receivable days, payable days and the cash conversion cycle are the key variable in profits whereas sales growth did not make any significant independent contribution.
