📄 Abstract

This study analyses investor behaviour and herding behaviour among retail investors in Kerala with special reference to the Indian stock market. The study is based on primary data collected from 100 retail investors in Thrissur districts using a structured questionnaire. The findings reveal that herding behaviour exists among investors, with many relying on market trends, expert opinions, and the actions of other investors while making investment decisions. Market volatility, fear of loss, financial news, and social media were identified as major factors influencing herd behaviour. The study concludes that socio-economic and behavioural factors significantly shape investment decisions, emphasizing the need for greater investor awareness and financial literacy..
