📄 Abstract
The position of women in Medieval India was shaped by a complex interaction of social, religious, economic, and political factors. While patriarchal norms imposed various restrictions on women's education, property rights, and public participation, their experiences differed across regions, communities, and social classes. This study examines the status of women during the Medieval period by analysing historical sources, including chronicles, literary works, travel accounts, and modern historiography. It explores women's roles in family life, religion, politics, and the economy, while highlighting the contributions of influential figures such as Razia Sultan, Nur Jahan, and Mirabai. The study concludes that the position of women in Medieval India was neither uniform nor static but evolved under diverse historical and cultural influences.
