📄 Abstract

This study investigates the effect of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) on consumer spending behaviour in Telangana. UPI has emerged as one of the most significant digital payment innovations launched by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). Study is based on consumer’s behaviour, spending habits, impulsive purchasing patterns, convenience, financial discipline and overall digital payment adoption. The research is based on both primary & secondary data. The primary data collected through a structured questionnaire from 100 respondents and the secondary data collected through journals, reports and online sources. Chi-Square Test, Correlation and Regression were used as statistical tools for the analysis. The results point to convenience and ease of use as the main drivers of UPI usage rather than demographics or income. Most respondents agreed that UPI has increased spending convenience and impulsive buying behaviour. The study concludes that UPI has transformed consumer financial behaviour and strengthened Telangana’s digital economy.
