📄 Abstract

This study examined the influence of habituation on occupational engagement and business performance among women entrepreneurs in the delta districts. Habituation was conceptualized through three dimensions: habits, roles, and occupational routines. A descriptive research design was adopted, and primary data were collected from 387 women entrepreneurs using a structured questionnaire. The data were analysed using path analysis to examine the direct effects among the study variables. The findings revealed that habits and occupational routines had significant positive influences on occupational engagement, whereas roles did not exhibit a significant effect. Furthermore, business performance was significantly influenced by habits, occupational routines, and occupational engagement. The results indicate that women entrepreneurs who establish consistent work habits and structured occupational routines demonstrate higher occupational engagement, which subsequently enhances their business performance. The study concludes that strengthening habituation practices can improve entrepreneurial effectiveness and recommends that entrepreneurship development programmes focus on habit formation, routine management, and occupational engagement strategies to promote sustainable business growth among women entrepreneurs in the delta districts.
