📄 Abstract
This study examines the impact of earnings per share on dividend payout ratio in Indian pharmaceutical companies. The secondary data was collected from annual financial reports for the period ranging from 2015-16 to 2024-25. The study employed Random effect regression model and the results indicates the existence of positive and significant relationship between earnings per share and dividend payout ratio and firm size is considered as control variable which shows a negative relationship with dividend payout ratio. This study contributes to the literature on dividend policy in Indian pharmaceutical industry indicating higher EPS is contributing to distribution of higher dividend to shareholders.
